Description

Purists will tell you this is not a lily but it has most of the characters of a lily. The grey-green leaves are in a fan-shape. Hard brown bracts surround the flower buds, which open purple with a yellow centre. Like many lilies, each flower lasts only one day, but with many buds per flowerhead, flowering can last for 3 or 4 weeks.

Advice

Looks best in clumps of 3 or more plants. Full sun brings the best flowering. It is happy to be flooded in Winter and tolerates dry conditions over Summer.
